Every day, we hear stories of people who are just one phone call away from a job interview, a safe place to sleep, or reconnecting with a loved one. At Cell Phone Safety Net, we believe no one should be cut off from opportunity simply because they can’t afford a phone.

When the federal government ended the Affordable Connectivity Program, over 23 million Americans, including 240,000 Oregonians, lost vital support that helped them stay connected to work, healthcare, family, and emergency services. In response, we launched Cell Phone Safety Net to continue that mission locally. Since then, we’ve helped over 15,000 Oregonians access phones and monthly service, and the need keeps growing.

This is our first nonprofit venture. It started with a simple question: What happens to our neighbors when the safety net disappears? We didn’t have all the answers, but we knew we had to act. Every phone we deliver is a step toward restoring dignity, safety, and connection.
